Ryan Townsend

Ryan Townsend

President

Ryan Townsend founded Dagda Corp in 2020 to integrate his academic, military, and construction careers for the benefit of local, state, federal government agencies, electric utilities, and prime contractors. A graduate of West Point with a BS in Civil Engineering, Ryan served as an Infantry Officer in Iraq and a member of a Defense Coordinating Element in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The mission to assist Americans after the hurricane influenced his decision to transition to the Coast Guard Reserve at the end of his active-duty Army commitment. Well-known for his self-deprecating humor and outstanding memory for dates and details, Ryan’s goals for every project are: make it one where the members of the project team look back fondly upon it because it not only met the standards of, "on time, under budget, and within scope," but that it also was a project where they learned something and enjoyed themselves. His construction career started on the Trans-Allegheny Interstate Line (TrAIL), a $1B project spanning PA, WV, and VA. In five years, from conception to closeout, Ryan was promoted from Field Engineer to Project Administrator and then to Project Manager. As a Coast Guard Reservist, Ryan has acquired and managed projects for the Facility Design and Construction Center, including the $70M rebuilding of Coast Guard Station Sandy Hook, in Sandy Hook NJ. In addition to his undergraduate degree, Ryan holds a MS in Civil Engineering, an MBA, and a Doctorate of Business Administration. He has completed Joint Professional Military Education from the Naval War College and is attending the Joint & Combined Warfighting School through the Joint Staff College. He is a registered PE in WV, PA, and DE and is a certified PMP.
